Maple Valley School of Ballet
OUR HISTORY AND MISSION
Maple Valley School of Ballet (MVSB) was founded by Claudette Krause and Barbara Lycett in 1982. Since that time the school has been serving the communities of Maple Valley, Covington, Auburn, Kent, Renton, Issaquah and Black Diamond. MVSB was acquired by Jessica Hamblen-Klepper, the current Artistic Director, upon Claudette's retirement in 2005.
MVSB offers comprehensive ballet and modern dance training programs based on standards of excellence in dance education and artistic performance. Each class level presents specific technical criteria, while instruction is individualized to meet the needs of each dancer. Individual growth and artistic expression are encouraged throughout the program. It is our mission to provide a supportive educational environment where students will experience artistic accomplishment and make dance a part of their lives.
Over the years the school has produced original ballets based on classic tales, children's stories, and colorful themes which integrate dance, literature, art, and culture. MVSB presents professional-quality original performances on an annual basis, offering young dancers the chance to share their art and the audience an unforgettable, theatrical experience.
